...the Bay Area Crisis Nursery can provide a warm, loving, homelike environment for your child.
How it works…
The child lives at the Nursery or Dahlstrom House (for our older children) and receives good food, clothing, and loving care. The parent, temporarily relieved of childcare, is free to work things out, is always welcome to visit during daylight hours, and can reunite their family as soon as the difficulty is resolved.
LOCATION: 1506 Mendocino Drive, Concord, Ca 94521
HOURS: Always open—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
AGE LIMIT: Birth through 11 years
COST TO FAMILIES: None
AVAILABLE TO: Any parent or legal guardian who comes to the nursery during times of stress or crisis. There are no geographic limits.
LENGTH OF STAY: Minimum stay of 24 hours; average length of stay is about 10 days; maximum stay depends on time needed to resolve crisis.
REFERRAL SERVICE
BACN will assist families in the process of rebuilding their lives. Staff members and/or a counselor can help families locate other needed services.
